Overhead Door Corporation, a leading manufacturer of overhead doors and openers for residential, commercial and industrial construction applications, has announced the introduction of the EcoBuilt™ product line. The EcoBuilt™ product line features two new garage door collections, The Verde Collection™ and the Traditional Panel Collection™. This line enhances Overhead Door’s product offerings to include collections that are naturally beautiful, environmentally friendly and durable.

EcoBuilt® garage doors look, feel and even sound like wood, because they are made of wood: 81% Douglas-fir, to be precise. Overhead Door recycles unused Douglas-fir from mills and fuses it with exterior grade resins and wax to form a hard-working homogenous door panel. Specially formulated to resist moisture, these door panels actually outperform wood in tests of weather and time.

Little did we know 50 years ago when this technology was being developed that EcoBuilt® would be the future of garage doors. Because of their unique composition, all EcoBuilt® garage door panels use 100% recycled wood fiber and are SCS Certified: Minimum 88% Recycled Content.

EcoBuilt® garage doors resist splitting, warping and cracking, unlike conventional wood doors, and they won’t dent or bend like steel doors. They’re easy to install and they come prepped for painting, eliminating the need for exterior priming. Offering the look and feel of handcrafted wood.

The Verde Collection™ features four styles: Yosemite™, Acadia™, Presidio™ and Tahoe™, available in a variety of patterns and with several window and decorative hardware options. The Verde Collection™ door was developed specifically to provide the curb appeal of an affordable custom, carriage house garage door to homeowners and can be purchased with or without insulation.

The New Traditional Panel Collection™ features a clean look with distinctive raised panel or flush door designs. The collection offers four panel designs: Smooth, Woodgrain, Long and Flush, giving customers numerous customization options. An optional insulation package can be added for optimal energy efficiency. “Our newest collections provide consumers with naturally beautiful, durable and environmentally friendly garage doors,” said Jason Moreno, product manager of residential door systems for Overhead Door.

EcoBuilt™ garage door panels are made from 100 percent recycled wood fiber and are SCS® (Scientific Certification Systems, SCS-MC-01666) certified to use a minimum of 88 percent recycled content. These doors also resist splitting, warping and cracking. They are easy to install and come prepped for painting, eliminating the need for exterior priming.
